A fire completely gutted the concert hall in 1982.
The concert hall sat within the grounds of Derwen College, and was a place for students to socialise.
Following the fire, a fundraising effort went in to full swing and in the same year a new concert hall was built.
The hall is still in use today as a very busy Student Union, and is a central social area for students to spend their leisure time.
The Student Union is used for discos, games and is also the location of the very popular Summer and Christmas shows.
