Derwen College Fete and Dog Show 2025, Essential Information

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Fete and Dog Show, taking place Saturday 14 June 2025.

Here’s some handy information to help you plan your visit to this FREE entry event.

Derwen Fete and Dog Show Opening Times

The Fete and Dog Show will be open 10am to 4pm Saturday 14 June 2025.

What’s On?

  • Local craft stalls
  • Derwen stalls and games
  • Marketplace outlets will be open
  • Tea and scones will be served in The Orangery Restaurant
  • Lawn games
  • Bouncy castles
  • BBQ, ice cream, bar and picnic area

Dog Show

Entries for our third annual dog show open at 10am and close when each class is full.

Taking place on the bowling green, entries are £3 per dog, per class.

Arts and Crafts Competitions

New for 2025, we are holding arts and crafts competitions, with opportunities for both children and adults to take part.

Located in Derwen College reception, entries are £2 each.

Open for entries from 10am, all entries to be submitted by 12pm.

Categories for children:

  • Garden in a tray
  • Animal made from vegetables
  • Cress head
  • Recycled art
Open to all ages:
  • Photography, theme: Patterns in Nature.
  • Jar of raspberry jam
  • Victoria sponge (two layers of sponge sandwiched with buttercream and jam)
  • Vegetarian quiche
  • Flower arrangement in an unusual receptacle
  • Handmade crochet piece

Derwen College Grand Raffle

The Grand Raffle will take place on Saturday 14 June at 2.45pm.

Tickets will be available shortly.

Cash or Card?

Entry into the fete weekend is FREE, although there will be donation stations at the entrances should you wish to donate to Derwen Charity.

The stalls and outlets to purchase food and drink may not always have a card machine for payments, and will only be able to take cash. There is no cash machine on site at Derwen, so please ensure you bring cash with you. You can find the nearest cashpoint here.

Fete Parking

The entrance for ALL visitors during Fete Weekend will be at Derwen College Entrance A, Twmpath Lane, Gobowen.

Blue badge holders are invited to park via Entrance C (main/Orangery Restaurant entrance on Whittington Road).

Public Transport

The Fete is accessible via Arriva Buses from Oswestry Bus Station (services 2 and 53). The nearest bus stops are Park Hall Derwen College and Gobowen Agnes Hunt.

Gobowen Railway Station is a 15 minute walk from the Fete. Regular trains arrive at Gobowen from Chester, Shrewsbury and Birmingham.
