We hold regular events to fundraise for Derwen Charity.
There are many ways in which you can get involved, from volunteering on the day, taking part or coming along as a visitor!
How to get involved
Christmas Fayre – 29 November 2025
Our festive celebrations start with our Christmas Fayre, our Garden Centre greenhouses are transformed into a Christmas market filled with local crafts and stallholders, it’s the perfect excuse to tick off some early Christmas shopping. That’s not all, there’s mulled wine, barbeques, Christmas trees and even the man in red will be there!
Here are ways you can get involved with our Christmas Fayre:
- Have a craft stall
- Sign up as an event volunteer
- Visit Santa!
10km Challenge – Saturday 18 April 2026
The Derwen 10km Challenge is a no pressure fun run for the community to raise funds for Derwen College. The route leaves Derwen College’s Gobowen campus and heads across the lanes before circling back and returning to campus where all participants receive a medal and goody bag.
Running not your thing? You can always walk, wheel or even volunteer as a marshal at the event. Please contact Megan Charman for more information.
Derwen Fete and Dog Show – Saturday 13 June 2026
Our biggest event of the year! The Fete and Dog Show brings hundreds of visitors to Derwen College to enjoy a fun day for all the family. From craft stalls to games, duck races and a grand raffle, the day is packed with activities and attractions. The annual Derwen Dog Show welcomes visitors can enter their furry friends into the fun categories to try and go home with a rosette or two.
Here are ways you can get involved at the Derwen Fete and Dog Show:
- Have a craft stall – if you run your own small business, we would love for you to showcase and sell your creations at our Fete and Dog Show.
- Sponsor a duck for the Duck Race
- Enter the Dog Show
- Donate a raffle prize
- Sign up as an event volunteer
