Derwen College’s Mission and Values
We work with people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including, but not limited to; autism, physical disabilities and behaviours of concern.
The people Derwen College supports may have moderate, severe, complex or profound and multiple learning disabilities.
As a charity we work with:
- Students, on educational programmes
- Clients, on social care funded packages
- Guests of our short breaks provision
‘We never thought it possible’ is a common refrain about the progress made by people at Derwen.
Our mission and values
Mission
To enable everyone to achieve beyond what they and others believe possible.
Values
Our work
We work with people to support them to achieve what they want to – and challenge them to do more. We value and respect everyone as an individual and try to go above and beyond to meet all their needs.
As a reflective organisation we are committed to evaluating and learning from our practices. We are a pioneering organisation, at the forefront of provision for people with special educational needs and disabilities. This is where we strive to continue to be.
Our culture
Our positive and empowering culture gives students the confidence and experience to live life their own way.
For us, there is so much joy to be found in difference.
