The Station Café is located within Gobowen train station where Derwen College works in partnership with Severn Dee Travel.
Our Hospitality and Food students work in the café serving travellers who pass through the busy ticket office.
The cafe is a result of our partnership with Severn Dee Travel. The partnership enables us to provide training opportunities for our hospitality and food students.
Trains run regularly from Gobowen and thousands of rail travellers pass through the station every year. Routes from Gobowen go to Wrexham, Chester, Shrewsbury and, in addition to the Welsh coast, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.
The café provides work placement opportunities for students at Derwen College. Here you can pick up hot or cold food, to be eaten in or taken away.
During your visit, experience our award winning ‘Loo with a View’ which was painted by students from Derwen College.
Staff member Teresa Richards was awarded the High Sheriff of Shropshire’s award in 2018 for her tireless work and commitment to the café and students.
